SIMPLE FOODS THAT HELP IN WEIGHT LOSS

It has been passed down from generation to generation. The notion that dinner should be the heaviest meals has been followed for quite some time. But according to recent studies, breakfast is now considered as the most important meal of the day. Eating heavily in the morning ensures that more food is burnt during the day as you work and you are active. Taking a heavy dinner at night means that you are going to have less food burnt in the body. When you are resting your body requires less energy and hence less food is processed. This will lead to the accumulation of fats in the body. The body fats will increase and lead to an overweight body contrary to your aim of weight loss.

There are several diets that one might consider in case they are looking for a diet to help them lose weight. Most of the diets are very simple. To get a good and healthy diet you only need the right combination of everyday foods. Porridge is one such type of food that when consumed in the morning will sustain us for long hours and is very nutritional. It should be noted that weight loss does not necessarily mean that you have to forego food. It means that you have to take the foods in such a way that they will be beneficial to your general health in the long run.

First, you have the mixed nut and fruit porridge. This recipe will give you a great start to your day. The end result will serve about two people, but you can always prepare more for a large group of people.

Ingredients:

1 orange
1/2 cup of yoghurt
30gms walnuts
30gms almonds
100gms oats
30gms sultanas

Preparation:

First let the oats absorb about half a litter of boiling water.
Then add the almonds, sultanas, and walnuts to the oats and let them mix well.
Squeeze the orange and mix the resultant juice with the yoghurt.
Cut the orange peel into thin slices.
The orange peels should be placed on top of the porridge when it is served, preferably in bowls.

In the recipe above you can substitute the sultanas with raisons in case you go to the market and you do not get sultanas. Another more or less the same recipe also involves yoghurt. You will find that yoghurt is most preferred by people on diet because, for one it is very nutritious and secondly it adds some flavor to your food which comes in a variety of flavors. The yoghurt berry and oat recipe is as follows;

Ingredients:

200mls strawberry yoghurt (very low in fat)
50gms oats
100gms strawberries
50gms sultanas

Preparation:

Place quarter of the yoghurt in an open container or glass.
Add the sultanas, oats and then the strawberries in that sequence.
Repeat the second step another two times. In total you should have about three glasses2 onions.
When you have done that you can then serve.

The two recipes above will give you nutritional value that you most need to start the day. Apart from the two recipes there are many more out there that you can explore to your advantage. Remember to consult your dietician and do some more research to be sure that whatever you are taking is essential for weight loss.
